10 Ways to Create More Positive Energy

Encountering days where positive energy can be lacking is completely normal. We are not perfect and sometimes we can fall off track in our day-to-day lives. There are days where we need an extra serving of inspiration or a little push to get us back on our feet. These tips below hopefully can help in creating extra positive energy in your life!

1. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff!

Try to re-train yourself in viewing your life and the world as a big picture and not focus in on the little details that are not going to matter in the long run. Spilled coffee on your favorite shirt this morning? That’s not going to matter weeks or even days from now. Didn’t get the promotion you wanted? Just take it as it happened for a reason. You were denied something because there is something bigger and better out there for you. Things didn’t work out with that girl or guy you were dating? It’s okay! Just know that you tried and be prepared to meet the person you were really meant for. Don’t get worked up over cheating on your diet, having a fight with your significant other, being stuck in traffic or not having what you want in your life. When you focus in on things that are lacking, you are creating negative energy. Choose your battles wisely!

2. Live in the PRESENT!

Too often people are dredging up the past and re-living worn out old scenes over and over. Aren’t you tired of seeing the same old movie that has the same ending? Stop re-playing moments of your past, wake up and live in the now. This moment right now is all that really exists! Why would you ever waste it living in the past? The past is the past and memories are great and all but no matter how much you think about it you can never change it. The same goes for the future! Don’t sit there and stress about things that haven’t come to pass yet. Those things are not here right now with you so there is no real, actual problem. Stop worrying about your fear of not ever finding Mr. or Mrs. Right, not ever being able to make the money you want, not being able to start a family or not achieving your goals. You can have all of that if you start living in the present moment. Everything you need in order to have all of those things exists now. If you want something, focus on what you want and act as if it is there with you right now. If you have goals, work on them right now and be confident that all will be achieved because you wanted it bad enough. Don’t spend your time wishing you had done things differently before, or worrying about what could go wrong in the future, spend your time living this very moment in creating the life that you want.

3. The Choice is Yours

It is your decision to be positive or negative. It is also entirely up to you on how you react to the things that happen to you. You have the power to control your emotions, no one else should. So whatever happens to you, your reaction should be in your control. In life you are always going to be faced with people or situations that test your patience. These are your “patience testers”. Think of them as part of an obstacle course that you have to get through to win. If you fail, you have to go back to the starting line. Pass with flying colors and you are headed to the next level in life. Don’t ever let someone make you angry or control your emotions. Lastly, things that happen to you do not define you. Don’t play victim and blame who you are on something that happened to you. Make the choice to be positive about yourself and the things that happened to you and watch the changes that happen.

4. Look for the Positive!

If you look for the negative, you will find it. My mom used to tell me something like “If you turn leaves over looking for bugs, you will find them.” For some reason this always stuck in my mind but I didn’t fully grasp it until a few years ago. If you go around looking for negative things then I 100% guarantee you will find them! Because we are trained to see the bad things in situations we are veiled in seeing all of the good things. If you notice, many people spend their time complaining about everything in life instead of giving praise. People complain about things like money, health, friends, family, weight and don’t spend enough time talking about the good things. Why? Because we easily fall into the trap of taking things for granted. You know one awesome thing that should instantly make you feel positive? You are alive. Yes, while someone else out there fights for their life, you are living and breathing free air. Next time you complain about your annoying co-worker in the cubicle next to you think about this: You have a job. You GET to have a co-worker to complain about. You have a paycheck. Those are the positive things in that situation. Re-train yourself in seeing the positives and you will have an endless amount of positive energy.

5. Affirmations

Whatever you desire you should verbally state it in daily affirmations. Don’t preach about things you don’t want like “I don’t want to be fat” or “I don’t have enough money”, the more you complain about things you don’t have, the more you will get what you don’t want. Affirm your goals by re-arranging your words and emotions behind it. Feel love every time you affirm something by saying “I love my body, I am thankful for it and it just gets better and better everyday.” When you say it, you have to mean it. By doing this you are directing positive energy towards these affirmations and believing it to be true. These affirmations will soon manifest themselves into reality. When you make affirmations, you will instantly create good vibes.

6. Have an Attitude of Gratitude

When I am feeling challenged, I instantly verbally run down a list of things I am grateful for. In fact, I try to make it a point to go through this list everyday. Not only that but when you find yourself living in the moment, find something in that time to give thanks for. I went on a bike ride yesterday and the weather was so beautiful. I gave thanks for that moment, I was able to go on a bike ride, see the beautiful sights and enjoy a wonderful day. Giving gratitude and appreciation will multiply all good things in your life. When you live a life of content, you will be awarded with more. Remember, negativity and gratitude cannot occupy the same spot. The second you are genuinely grateful for things, the negativity will disappear.

7. Love

No matter what you do, love it! When you love someone, something, or anything you do, you are infusing it with energetic vibes. The next time you have to work out at the gym, LOVE IT. You GET to work out while there are many others that don’t get that privilege. When you start loving it, you will see a reciprocation of amazing results. Do you have a job that you hate? Well you have two choices, try to look for a different job or change your mindset. LOVE your job and you will start to see things change. Instead of nitpicking your relationships, infuse them with love and those small things won’t matter anymore.

8. Be Content

Live your life as if you already have everything you ever wanted and you will start to feel rich. If you start acting like you have a wonderful career, you will have a wonderful career. If you learn to love your body and act as if you are fit, you will be fit. Be happy with what you have and you will soon be awarded with more. But if you sit there and complain that you got a measly paycheck, don’t be surprised if one day it goes away. Just know, things can always be worse so don’t ever give worse an opportunity to find you. Being content with your life will leave room for positive energy to grow.

9. Dress for the Life That You Want

Have you ever heard of the saying, “Don’t dress for the job you have, dress for the job that you want”? The same rings true for life. Dress for the person you want to be and the life that you want to have. I’m not saying go out there and break the bank or blow your life savings on a brand new wardrobe. I’m saying if you are walking around in sweats and flip-flops all of the time then you are not telling the universe that you are ready for some amazing things to happen to you. If you show up to work in sloppy gear and don’t take pride in your appearance then you are saying you are not ready to step up in your career. Dressing for success doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank. There are tons of ways to dress well on a budget. Even if you are just running errands or having lunch with a friend, you should make it a point to look presentable. By doing this you are telling the world who you are and who you want to be. Want to be a successful, happy person with everything they ever wanted? Well, how would that person dress on a day-to-day basis then?

10. Read Jeneration Life!

Really… if you are having a bad day or need an extra dose of positivity in your life, read my blog. When I visit my blog and re-read some past posts, it helps bring me to the place that I want to be. I can remind myself of how good I have it and to practice what I preach. We all need reminders from time to time and reading discussions on life and positivity is a great way to create some good energy in your life. Make sure at least once a day you read something positive to get you going. Don’t get caught up in living your day-to-day life on autopilot. Wake yourself up each day by reading something that inspires you.
